Summarise the procedure?

A
  1. Random allocation- to control or experimental.
  2. Experimental group- given manual which consisted of exercise programme, stress mangament and recorded relaxation programme, self-help treatment designed to target intrustive thoughts, anxiety, depression.
  3. Control group- standard information, time with facillitator, various information leaflets about heart attack recovery.
  4. Meeting with facillitator- after 1, 3, 5 weeks all patients were contarcted by faciliitator.Experimental- checked/encouraged to keep up with the treatment. Control- general encouragement

Experimental- the rehabilitation program had a long-term positive effect on psychological adjustment, but its impact on depression was only noticeable early on.
