16
Q

When is the Landing Collar used?

A

It is used when a mechanical Running Tool is used to set a Mechanical Liner Hanger or when a RBS is installed in the Running Tool Assembly.

17
Q

List the features and/or benefits of the Landing Collar (LC)?

A

• Acts as a back up for Float Shoe/Collar when the plug latches and seals.
• Acts as seat and latch for the cement plugs
• All internal parts are PDC drillable
• Threaded or cement inserts.
• Anti-rotation feature for fast drill out.
• Premium connections available.

18
Q

What is the function of the BCLC?

A

Ball Catch Landing Collar is a Landing Collar with a Ball Seat.

19
Q

What is the function of the Ball Catch Landing Collar (LC)?

A

Acts as a seat and latch for the Liner Wiper Plug but also has a ball seat for setting balls of hydraulic set equipment.

20
Q

When is a BCLC used?

A

It is used when a hydraulic set device is used.

21
Q

What is the Orifice Float Collar?

A

Is a Float Collar with “orifice” ports for self filling and to prevent pressure lock.

22
Q

What are the features and benefits of an Orifice Float Collar in a Tie-Back?

A

• Reduces lost rig time and drilling fluid allowing the Tie-Back Liner/Casing to fill while RIH.
• The Orifice Ports prevents pressure lock as the Tie-Back Seal Nipple is stabbed into the TBR. Displaced fluids flow through the ports.
• All internal parts are PDC drillable
• Single Poppet Valve standard.

23
Q

Name the different types of Float Shoes and Collar available?

A

• Float Shoes: Cement nose standard, reamer, bladed bottom. Single or dual poppet valve versions available.
• Float Collars: Standard Float Collar, Orifice Float Collar (Tie Back).

24
Q

What is a Setting Sleeve/Adapter?

A

A setting sleeve is a component that provides the profile or a profile through which a Running Tool can be connected to Liner Hanger System. The colossus sleeve is an integral part of the mandrel.

25
Name all the Colossus and Legacy Setting Sleeves available?
• Colossus: PV-SA Setting Sleeve and the profiles in the PV and EPV Liner Top Packers. • Legacy: SATM
26
Name the 2 main categories of Legacy and Colossus Packers?
Colossus: EPV and PV (PV-0 and PV-3) Legacy: MPO and MPH. (“O” without hold down slips – “H” with hold down slips)
27
List all the available Colossus and Legacy Running Tools?
• Colossus: CRT, RRT-HM, RRT-M and SMRT • Legacy: Model-D/STL
28
With which Packer and Running Tool is the SATM adapter compatible with?
SATM can ONLY accommodate the Mod-D/STL tool. WMPO/WMPH - Model-D/STL  SATM Setting Sleeve with TBR.
29
Demonstrate a compatibility flow line of Colossus equipment?
Colossus Setting Sleeve: PV-SA (Setting Sleeve), EPV and PV profiles Running Tools: CRT(on running profile) and RRT-HM/M and SMRT (Running Threads/Running Nut Threaded Profile).
30
What is the function of the Setting Tool Extension Assembly with Junk Sleeve?
Provides the connection between the Liner Setting Tool and the operator’s work string.
31
List the features and benefits of the Setting Tool Assembly with the Junk Strain Assembly?
• STE Assembly OD same as DP. • Various lengths available in order to find right TBR fit without splicing/spacing out for optimum performance and reduced leak paths. • Setting Tool Extension Assembly comes with Junk Strain Assembly to prevent large particles from falling in the PBR.
32
Legacy: What does TDA stand for and what is it for?
Tamping Dog Assembly: Is used to set the Liner Top Packer. It is placed between the Setting Tool Extension and the Liner Running Tool.
33
List the features and benefits of a Tamping Dog Assembly?
• Tensile rating equal to or greater than Liner Setting Tool • Large Dogs with machined shoulders for optimum weight transfer • Smooth ID, matches that of Setting Tool and Setting Tool Extension for free passage of plugs. • Cannot be rotated when Setting the Packer.
34
What is the Mod-D/STL Tool?
It is a mechanical release running tool used to convey hydraulically and mechanically set liner hangers. It is only compatible with the SATM Setting Sleeve.
