Being judged on whether or not we are moral- we must follow teachings and the bible to enter heaven.
Living a good life- shown through following passages and loving god and neighbour in daily life’s.
Showing love of neighbour- follow teachings sheep and Samaritan and support work like cafod.
Free of sin to achieve salvation- avoid Venial and moral sins- EL
Why do CATHOLICS believe in life after death?
Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to followers
Saint Paul- we will resurrect like Jesus ‘for as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will be made alive’
Creed ‘I believe in the resurrection of the dead and life of the world to come’
Gives our life a meaning- if we live a good life then we will be rewarded eternally.
NON RELIGIOUS reasons for life after death
NDE- key word
People come back and remember why happened to them, shows life after death through feelings if joy peace and seeing a white light or dead relative.
Spirit world- paranormal key word, shows it as mediums know personal stuff and can contact loved ones who have died.
Reincarnation- Hindus Sikhs and Buddhists say that they are reborn into a new body. Shows it by baby monkey boy.
Why people DO NOT believe in life after death
Atheist- no god then nothing non material exists, no heaven.
Dif religions have opposing views if there was life after death all views would be equal.
Based on holy books so if you are atheist you have nothing to believe and science opposes the paranormal.
If the body is cremated no way is it reborn.
Influence from parents cause people to believe no life after death
Nowhere for it to happen as space exploration has shown that there is no heaven above space.
