A

Judaism teaches that a jew should never die alone. The dying persons family should try their best to always spend time with them and ensure they never feel alone.

Intense mourning follows the death then 30 days of lesser mourning.

A

Some Jews believe that they’re judged as soon as they die. This view is supported by an example by the Ecelites 12:7 which suggests judgement happens shortly after death.

The promise land

A
  • The promise land is the land of Canaan, which God promised to Abraham and the Jews.
  • After Abraham had travelled to Canaan, he made a covenant(agreement) with God. God promised Abraham he would be the father of many nations. In return, Abraham was required to live a life dedicated to God.

Covenant of Sinai and the 10 commandments.

A

400 years after God and Abraham made the covenant, the Jews were enslaved in Egypt.

  • The Pharaoh refused to release them so God sends Moses to warn him that he will send punishment if he does not release.
  • Pharaoh ignores the instructions and God sends 10 plagues- the last of which was death to the first born.
  • Jews protected their families by following Moses instructions by painting lambs blood on there doors so the angel of death would pass over their children.
