High key
All areas of the frame are lit using multiple lights
Low key
Some areas of the frame are lit more than others
Coloured lighting
Gives an effect to the scene of the films
A golden glow to bring light to a scene and a soft flattering effect
Natural lighting
Comes from the sun or daylight and no extra effect is used
Reality TV shows
Diegetic light
Light that is shown through a lamp torch or sun, creates a dramatic effect
Up light- creates shadow source below subject
Overhead lighting- acts like a spotlight lighting to create glow
Three point light
Back light
To make the subject stand out from the background and become the focus point
Key lighting
Illuminates the subject
Fill light
Fills in the shadows and softens the key light
