ELT

A

On Light - Illuminates amber when the emergency signal is being transmitted or during a test.

On - Transmits emergency signal.
Armed - Transmits in the event of an impact.
Test/Reset - Starts the autotest.

A

ADIRS

A

ON BAT - One or more IRs are on battery power.

Drops the 2 not used by the CA after 5 minutes, typically 2 & 3.

  • Also as a test.

IR Push Buttons
* Solid FAULT - IR no good.
* Flashing FAULT - Attitude and heading may be recovered in ATT mode. Must type in magnetic heading.

ADR Push Buttons
FAULT - Fault affects associated air data reference computer.

Rotary Selectors
OFF - Deactivates ADIRU.
NAV - Normal mode, supplies full inertial data to aircraft systems.
ATT - Only supplies attitude and heading if the system loses its ability to navigate. Must insert heading in MCDU and reset every 10 minutes or so.

FLT CTL

A

ELAC 1 - Primary for Ailerons
ELAC 2 - Primary for Elevators
FAULT - Fault is detected or during the ELAC power-up test (8 seconds).

SEC 1 - Primary for Spoilers
Can control elevator in back up mode.

FAC 1 - Speed tape symbology, F, S, Green Dot, Flight Envelope, Low Energy Warnings, WS, Turn Coordination, Yaw Dampening, Rudder Trim and Travel Limits.

EVAC

A

COMMAND
Activates Evacuation tone in the cabin and flashes EVAC lights at the FWD & AFT attendant panels.
* EVAC light flashes red and depending on AC configuration, a horn sounds.

HORN SHUT OFF
Silences flight deck Evacuation tone.

CAPT & PURS - Control Switch.

EMER ELEC PWR

A

GEN 1 LINE
SMOKE - Smoke is detected in the avionics ventilation system. Remains on as long as smoke it detected.

Would also see FAULTs on the Blower and Extract as confirmation.

OFF - Takes off electrical system and dedicates to #1 Fuel pumps in each wing.

RAT & EMER GEN
FAULT - Illuminates with a loss of power to AC Bus 1 & 2 if the emergency generator is not supplying power.

MAN ON
Pressing - Deploys the RAT and activates the emergency generator.
Automatically extends and activates the generator when AC Bus 1 & 2 are off and Aircraft speed is greater than 100 knots.

A

TERR
FAULT - Database has failed, terrain is not shown on the ND.

SYS
FAULT - Basic GPWS mode 1-5 malfunction. No warnings.

G/S MODE

ON - Prevents nuisance warnings when landing with Flaps 3.

GND CTL
* Powered on ground for first 5 minutes after electrical power application.
* On the ground with at least 1 engine.
* In flight.
Stops automatically 5 minutes after last engine shutdown.

CVR TEST
Press and hold with parking brake set to test. Low frequency tone is heard.

CVR ERASE
Push for 2 seconds while on the ground with parking brake set to erase.

OXYGEN

SYS ON - When a signal has been sent to open the oxygen mask doors. Remains on until the OXYGEN TMR RESET pushbutton is pushed on the maintenance panel.

Mask automatically doors open when above 14,000ft cabin alt, or when you lift the guard and push the button.

CREW SUPPLY
Lights out - Oxy supply valves are open.
OFF - Valves are closed.

MECH
Cockpit Call light is illuminated on external power panel and external horn sounds.

FWD/AFT
Captain Call and pink light illuminates at the appropriate FA Call panel. High/Low Chime sounds.

EMER
ON and CALL lights flash. Emergency Call and pink light illuminates on all FA Call panels. High/Low Chime sounds THREE times.

A

Releases a measured quantity of rain repellent.
Does not work on the ground with engines off.

Wiper control, when OFF is selected, wiper stops out of view.

Max speed is 230 knots and can only be used on a wet windshield.

MODE SEL
AUTO - Center tank transfer valves automatically open when wing tank is not full, and close 5 minutes after center tank low level is reached.

FAULT
* When center tank has more than 550 lbs and left or right wing tank has less than 11,000 lbs.

XFEED
Green OPEN - Valve fully open
ON - Valve is opening

Center tank pumps run for 2 minutes after an engine is started and slats extended.
Airborne and slats retracted, pumps run again.

APU can shut down for a multitude of reasons on the ground including a fire with auto extinguish.

APU can shut down for a multitude of reasons in flights, but will not for a fire and will not auto extinguish.

<100 knots gain DC battery bus. (No indications in cockpit)

<50 knots lose AC ESS Bus. (All screens blank)
