Limits Part 1 Flashcards
(50 cards)
When operational limits are exceeded, what form shall an entry be made on? What will the entry state?
DA Form 2408-13-1
Entries shall state what limits were exceeded, range, time beyond, and any pertinent info.
The minimum crew to fly the aircraft is…
A pilot and a co pilot
What is the minimum crew for maintenance ground runs? When may a technical observer be permitted to occupy the copilot’s station?
Minimum crew is a maintenance test pilot occupying the PLT’s station.
Tech. Observer may occupy at the commander’s discretion
Nr % digital readout maximum
110%; Maximum (>110 red)
Nr % digital readout Transient (yellow)
105-110%
Nr % digital readout High rotor warning annunciated
105%
Nr % digital readout Normal (Green)
97-104%
Nr % digital readout Low rotor warning annunciated
96.5%

How long at Idle can you expect oil pressure to reduce to formal limits during first start?
5 minutes
Engine 1 or 2 oil pressure: Maximum
120 psi (>120 red w/box)
Engine 1 or 2 oil pressure: Normal (green)
23-120psi
Engine 1 or 2 oil pressure: Minimum
23% minimum(<23 red)
Hydraulic Pressure Limits: Transient - permitted for 5 sec (yellow) (5 sec or below red w/box)
> 3410 psi
Hydraulic Pressure Limits: Normal (green)
2700-3300psi
Hydraulic Pressure Limits: Minimum
1260psi (<1260 red w/box)
What must be observed once the EMERG HYD button is pressed on?
It must remain on. Flight control inputs and G loading must remain minimal. The Aircrew will not be able to move flight controls after the Accumulator (ACC) hydraulic pressure drops below approx 1650 psi.
Hydraulic Pressure Limits: Transient - permitted for 5 MINUTES (yellow) (5 MIN or below red w/box)
3310-3400psi
Engine Starter Limitations: what is the time between intervals?
60 seconds between the end of one start cycle and the beginning of the next.
Engine Starter Limitations: what defines a start cycle?
The interval from start initiation and acceleration of the output driveshaft, from zero RPM, to starter dropout.
Engine Starter Limitations: When does the 60 second delay apply?
When the first attempt is aborted for any reason and it applies regardless of the duration of the first attempt. (If motoring is required for an emergency, the 60 sec delay does not apply)
Why are dual engine starts prohibited?
Dual engine starts are prohibited due to insufficient IPAS air.
Engine Starter Limitations: Ambient temps 61deg (16C) or below
2 consecutive start cycles, 3 min rest, 2 start cycles, 30 minute rest.
Engine Starter Limitations: Engine Starts at temps above 61deg (16C)
2 starts, 30 min rest
