A

Enzyme. Specific to the liver. Raised in acute injury or inflammation. If both this and AST are raised then the liver is inflamed.

ALP

A

Enzyme. Mainly raised in biliary tree damage. Can be raised in some bones (when they are cancerous).

Prothrombin time (PTT)

A

The time taken for the blood to clot. The clotting factors in the blood are produced by the liver therefore if the liver is damaged, it will take longer for the blood to clot.
