A

the internal sense of being of an individual: man/ male vs. woman/female vs. both vs. neither, especially in relation to society or culture

gender characteristics examples:
1. women earn less money than men

  1. more men than women smoke as women smoking is not appropriate
  2. women do more housework than men

what is sexual orientation?

A

terms to describe different sexual orientations are lesbian, gay, bisexual, and straight/heterosexual

sexual orientation has three main dimensions: sexual identity, sexual attraction, and sexual behavior

  1. sexual identity refers to the way a person self-identifies with a given sexual orientation
  2. sexual attraction refers to the individuals to whom a person is physically and/or emotionally attracted
  3. sexual behavior refers to the gender(s) of the individuals with whom that person engages in sexual activity
