1

Q

What will fit the active site of an enzyme?

A

Only the substance with the correct shape will fit into the active site

Q

Why does the active site need to change shape?

A

It is typically not the perfect shape, so the active site needs to change shape to fit tighter to the substrate

Q

What is denaturing?

A

This is when too high heat will break the bonds holding the enzyme in it’s shape, the active site will no longer correspond to the substrate. This can also happen if pH is too high or low
