Anaphora: the mark isn’t real but its a symbol of the pain and suffering they’re going through
Hyperbole: mark in every face i meet, everyone is effected
The hapless soldier’s sigh Runs in blood down palace walls
Personification: blood running down palace walls, The people that are responsible for the deaths of the soldiers are the people in charge
Oxymoron: ‘Hapless soldier’ hapless means useless, british empire wanted to expand so much that they allowed anyone to be part of the army.
