What is saphena varix?
dilatation of saphenous vein at junction with femoral vein
Signs of saphena varix?
disappears when lying down
patient tends to have varicose veins
What is a hydrocele?
collection of fluid in tunica vaginalis (space around testes)
Will a hydrocele transluminate?
yes
Way to differentiate between hernia and hydrocele?
pinch fingers above it - if they touch each other it is a hydrocele, if not it is a hernia
Who tend to get teratomas?
younger patients
What is raised in teratoma?
HCG
alpha deta protein
What type of testicular tumour responds well to chemo?
