MACTAC) Definition of Hot Zone
Define by incident command, a hot zone is a geographic area with a known threat. Persons in
this area should only be law enforcement or armed personnel who are attempting to isolate, contain, or
neutralize any hostile threat(s).

Answer- The MACTAC response policy cannot be used in conjunction with traditional STAR de-escalation
protocol. STAR de-escalation protocol emphasizes slowed momentum to gather resources whereas the
MACTAC response policy highlights the need for immediate intervention.

ICS 100) Definition of Unity of Command
Answer- While chain of command related to the overall hierarchy of the organization, unity of command
deals with the fact that all individuals have a single designated supervisor they report to. Based on the
principle of unity of command, you will report to only one ICS supervisor and receive work assignments
only from your ICS supervisor.
