Once Squads leave the rally points they are now Considered
MACTAC squads and can be broken down further into strike teams and buddy teams.
Team Missions
1. Assault 1 of 5
First responders on scene moving to neutralize the immediate threat to save lives.
o Assist teams already in contact with suspects.
o SWAT teams will assume primary responsibilities upon arrival unless otherwise directed by the incident or tactical commander

Downed officer Rescue techniques per LVMPD
Casualty collection point. Set up or evacuation as directed by the IC

3. Containment 3 of 5
Teams assigned to prevent the threat from expanding/ retreating from an area of initial threat or contained area.
These teams should be no smaller than a buddy team

Protective details for Incident Command location, Staging Area, Fire and Medical response teams (Rescue Task Force), or for additional detail as dictated by the Incident Commander

5. Reconnaissance 5 of 5
Reconnaissance operations are undertaken to obtain information about the activities and resources of a suspect or potential suspect. (Example: Moving a two officer element to a location where they could monitor security cameras or being placed in a location where they could provide over-watch to the area of operation or incident command area.

During convoy to the incident the SGT/Team leader may get addition information. How should he relay this information to his/her team.

What is the S.A.L.U.T.E. report.
Size – How many suspects are there?
Activity – What are they doing? (Active Assailant, Hostage, Barricade, etc.)
Location – Where are they now or direction they are moving towards?
Uniform – What is the suspect’s description? (Clothing, language, etc.)
Time –Is it real time information or when did it occur? How timely is the information?
Equipment – What type of weapons or explosives do the suspects have
