Q

KING: Who shall be next? (MJ is drawn from bag o names)

A

MJ: Lords and Ladies, I am no entertainer. All I ask is for your ears, which I will return to you in good time. I am not used to telling stories alone, and so I ask you to forgive me if my story seems odd.

Q

KING: I like this story already.

A

MJ: Now, this king ruled in a far-off land, and as it was there were some differences between their kingdom and ours. For example, this king had a castle made of grass. A beautiful, emerald green grass that covered the castle and shielded it from its enemies.

A

MJ: One day, the king was sitting on this throne and realized that his throne wasn’t as beautiful and as lovely as it had been in the past, and so the King decided that he was to have a new throne for his birthday. And on this birthday, a new throne was given to the king- a splendid, gold-encrusted, bejeweled throne! The likes of which have never been seen before!

Q

QUEEN: There goes the surprise.

A

MJ: The king sat down on his new throne and had his servants take the old throne and put it away in the attic. The king liked having a new throne so much, that every year on his birthday, he had a new throne made, and had his servants take the old throne away. Year after year this went on, and every year everyone wondered what the new throne would look like.

A

MJ: One year, on the king’s birthday, just s they were about to unveil the new throne, there was a great crash! All the old thrones that had been stored in the attic had gotten too heavy and crashed through the ceiling and crushed the king! The king died and the kingdom was sad, but everyone knows people who love in grass houses should not stow thrones.
