Magnetism Flashcards

1
Q

what is a magnetic field?

A

a region in which a force is exerted on magnetic materials ie for magnetic fields to work, they must be magnetic, and for gravity to work, object must have mass

Q

describe the right hand grip rule?

A

the right hand grip rule shows the direction of current and magnetic field. the thumb represents flow of current and the fingers direction of folding represent direction of magnetic field

thumb = direction of current
fingers = curl in direction of magnetic field
