What is the bulbo-urethral gland
One of a pair of small yellow glands that secrete a lubricating fluid into the urethra
Epididymus
A highly folded tubule located behind each testis which stores sperm while it matures
What is the lobule
A compartment within the testis that contains seminiferous tubules
What is the scrotum
The pouch outside the abdominal cavity in which the testis are located.
Sperm needs to be 2 degrees colder than body temperature so muscle fibres inside scrotum walls contract to regulate temperature
What is the prostate gland
Where the vasa deferentia join the uethra
A single gland shaped like a doughnut wich surrounds the urethra just below the bladder
Secretes a thin milky alkaline fluid
What is semen
The liquor that nourishes and aids the transport of sperm
What is seminal vesicle
A pair of pouch like organs that secrete a thick liquid rich in sugars that makes up 60% of semen
What is seminiferous tubules
A tightly coiled duct located in testis where sperm are produced
The tubules are lined with cells that make gamete’s
What is testosterone
The male sex hormone secreted within a mature testis by the endocrine cell
What is the urethra
The duct that carries urine from the bladder to the exterior, in males it also Carrie’s sperm
What is the vas deferens
The tube that Carrie’s sperm away from the testis
