Approach to Stall/Stall Recovery Initiate the Recovery
- Disconnect autopilot and auto throttle.
- Reduce AOA
- Roll Wings Level
- Apply Thrust as Required. Firewall Thrust if needed. (MD-11 has FADEC Bar)
- Call “Heading Hold”
- Speed Brakes Retracted
- Maintain Configuration until appropriate airspeed
- Re-engage Autopilot and Autothrottles
Predictive Windshear Warning on Approach
“Go Around Windshear Ahead” (Red Warning)
Perform immediate go-around
Go Around Max Thrust / Thrust Set
Flaps 28 (22) / Positive Rate / Gear Up / Check Missed Approach Altitude
Predictive Windshear Caution on Approach
“Monitor Radar Display” (Yellow Caution)
- Consider location of windshear
- Either continue the approach or go around.
Predictive Windshear Warning or Caution on Takeoff
“Windshear Ahead Windshear Ahead” (Red Warning) / “Monitor Radar Display” (Yellow Caution)
Reject Takeoff
Do not start Takeoff roll
Predictive Windshear Advisory Icon on Takeoff
Consider Rejected Takeoff
Consider location of windshear and plan to deviate or avoid
Windshear Guidance
Head Windshear x3
Tail Windshear x3
- Push Go Around Button
”Firewall Thrust” (MD-11 FADEC Bar If needed) - Pitch up, follow flight directors
- Autopilot ON - Above 100ft
PRM Breakout Maneuver
- Autopilot Off
- Select Heading _____
- Limit Climb/Descent to 1,000fpm
- After LOC Break - Autopilot ON
TCAS RA
Autopilot Disconnect
Climb / Descend
Maintain vertical speed in green
Once clear:
Autopilot ON
Comply with ATC clearance
