King Francis II and he was the King of France and he was catholic making France mainly catholic as well which was a foreign threat for Elizabeth as if anything bad happened to Mary or France wanted to take over for Mary they easily could.

Mary had been linked towards many rebellions and murders within her time. She was linked into the murder of her second husband Lord Darnley where they did have a tricky marriage with Darnley stabbing one of Marys secretary Rizzio as he was jealous of their friendship, later then Darnley had an explosion in a house and was soon discovered he was smothered to death.

- —She was a catholic queen and with England being split between catholic and protestant the Catholics wanted Mary on the throne of England and with Elizabeth having no heir she could easily take over if Elizabeth died.
