What are Mixed Numbers?
Values containing numbers and fractions.
What are Improper Fractions?
When the numerator is bigger than the denominator in a fraction.
What is a Common Factor?
A number that divides by both the numerator and the denominator of a fraction.
What is a Reciprocal?
The reciprocal of any number is 1/n which can also be written as n to the power of -1.
What is a Unit Ratio?
When a ratio is written as 1:n, and n may or may not be a whole number.
What is Direct Proportion?
When one value or shape has been increased or decreased by the same proportional amount.
What is Simple Interest?
Interest calculated only on the original amount invested.
What is Percentage Change?
The amount a value has increased written in percent.
What is VAT?
Tax that you pay when you buy something that goes to the government (20%).
What does Depreciates mean?
Loses value.
What does Annum mean?
Synonym for yearly.
What are Recurring Decimals?
A number that can never be written out as an exact value.
What is a Fraction?
A value usually less than one that is expressed through an amount of an amount.
What is a Ratio?
When a value is in direct proportion to another value.
What is a Percentage?
A value usually less than one hundred that is expressed through an amount out of one hundred.
