Why do we use ratios?
To compare two values
How do we simplify a ratio?
We find the HCF
What are equivalent ratios?
Ratios that are equal to each other.
What is direct proportion?
Two quantities are directly proportional if they increase at the same rate.
What is inverse proportion?
Two quantities are inversely proportional if one increases while the other decreases at the same rate.
Why do we use best buy?
To compare products.
What are exchange rates?
Where we look at the value of one currency compared to another.
What is the unitary method?
The method where we find one to find other values.
What is reverse percentages?
Reverse percentages is the way of working backwards to find the original amount.
How do we find 50%?
Divide the amount by 2
How do we find 10%?
Divide the amount by 10.
How do we find 25%?
Divide the amount by 4, or half it, and half it again.
How do we find 5%?
Find 10%, and half that amount.
How do we find 1%?
Divide the amount by 100.
How do we estimate?
We round to one significant figure.
