So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water. 33 Those tending the pigs ran off, went into the town and reported all this, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. 34 Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

So he said to the paralyzed man, "Get up, take your mat and go home." 7 Then the man got up and went home. 8 When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.

"Follow me," he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him. 9:10 While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew's house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples. 9:11 When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" 9:12 On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 9:13 But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners."

Where then did this man get all these things?" 57 And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, "A prophet is not without honor except in his own town and in his own home." 58 And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith.

So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." 15:24 He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." 15:25 The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. 15:26 He replied, "It is not right to take the children's bread and toss it to the dogs." 15:27 Yes it is, Lord," she said. "Even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table." 15:28 Then Jesus said to her, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed at that moment.

M 16:1 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 16:2 He replied, "When evening comes, you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,' 16:3 and in the morning, 'Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. 16:4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah." Jesus then left them and went away.

"Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." 7 They discussed this among themselves and said, "It is because we didn't bring any bread." 8 Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, "You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? 9 Do you still not understand? Don't you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? 10 Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? 11 How is it you don't understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees." 12 Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
