What is a mechanical property?
What do they determine?
A specific characteristic of a material. It determines how a material will react when subjected to one or more types of mechanical forces.
Define hardness
The ability to resist denting
Define rigidity
The ability to resist tension
Define resilience
The ability to resist impact
Define Malleability
The ability to be flattened into a sheet; the ability to be easily shaped
Define brittleness
The ability to brake before deforming
Define ductility
The ability to be shaped into a wire

The ability to return to its original shape

The ability to conduct electricity

The ability to conduct heat
