Haloperidol

A

5–10 mg to a max of 20 mg

Contra indicated for hyperdynamic events, or suspicion of hyperdynamic drug use.

Blocks postsynaptic dopamine receptors in the mesolimbic system

Contraindications: coma, severe toxic CNS depression, Parkinson’s disease

Ketamine

A

Dose: 2 mg IV push just one minute prior to paralytic administration.

This acts on cortex and limbic receptors producing disassociative analgesia and sedation.

Contraindications: hypertensive crisis and use of associated hypertensive meds.
Acute globe injury or glaucoma
When significant elevation in blood pressure Could be problematic… I.e.: aortic dissection, MI, intracranial hemorrhage
Schizophrenia – increases psychosis

Lidocaine

A

1–1.5 mg/kilograms to a max of 300 mg

Subsequent doses of .5-.75 can be administered if treating V-tac with a pulse.

Infusion: 2–4 mg/min based on previous push dose. Add 1 mg to whatever the push those was and then round up if necessary.

Contraindications: second- degree type two, or third- degree block.
Adams-stokes syndrome
