Toradol (Ketorolac)

A

Class: Nonopioid Analgesics, Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
- Short-term management of pain. reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body. (Post surgery)

ROUTE: PO, IM, IV, IN
Side effect:
- Headache
- Drowsiness
- GI Bleeding
- Stroke (with prolonged use)
Nursing Implementation:
- Assess pain
- Monitor BP (may cause liquid retention and edema leading to new onset or worsening of hypertension)

Class: Anticholinergic
- Increase heart rate, Reduce secretion during surgery
Side effects:
- Dry mouth
- Blurred vision
- Tachycardia
Nursing implementation:
- Do not give atropine if the patient is already tachycardia (HR: >100 bpm)
- Do not give if the patient is hypothermic ( <30c or 86f)
