  • Release of excitatory NT’s (incl. glutamate & substance P)
  • Increased Ca2+ transport causes spontaneous impulses (APs)
  • pain message sent to brain
  • Medication that decrease Ca channel activity:
  • GBP: Gabapentin (precursor to Pregabalin)
  • PreGab: Pregabalin
