Q

How does memory function?

A

Information is processed, which is the first stage of the process and then information is stored, such as in either short term or long term memory. When a memory is needed, the information is recalled and without this process we would forget the information. The size of a memory is called its capacity and the duration is how long the memory lasts within that store. Finally, there is a focus on the encoding, which is the form in which the information is stored.
