TWO 500mg tabs TDS- can be increased to a maximum of EIGHT tablets for 4 days

Who is tranexamic acid appropriate for?
A
Women whose cycles range from 21-35 and don’t vary each month by more than 3 days

CIs to tranexamic acid/ when to refer
A
Referral required if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 cycles
Haematuria
Irregular periods
Epilepsy/ history of seizures
Haematological conditions e.g., haemophilia, active clots, on anticoagulation etc.
Mild to moderate renal insufficiency/ severe renal impairment.
If taking oral contraception
