12
Q

Why do u have to be careful when focusing with high power lenses ? Precautions ?

A

Do not hit or damage the slide below.
Look at the objective from the side
Do not use coarse knob to focus for high power objective lenses (use fine adjustment)

14
Q

When using the fine adjustment knob

A

Use high power lenses
Turned no more than 1/4 to bring object into sharp focus on slide

15
Q

10 cm away from the edge of the table ?

A

Reduces risk of microscope falling or getting knocked off the table

16
Q

Low power lenses before high?

A

Easier to find the tiny area on the slide being observed under low power

17
Q

Microscope slide held by the edges ?

A

Slide needs to be bacteria and oil free so it doesn’t interfere with the observation

18
Q

Low power to high should the diaphragm be closed or open?

A

Open slightly to increase light. Object is closer, don’t want to hurt eyes but need more light to see detail

19
Q

Cell theory has 3 essential parts what are they?

A

All organisms are composed of 1 or more cells

Cells are the basic units of structure and function in an organism (basic unit of life)

Cells come only from the reproduction of existing cells
