Q

Describe the features of an electron microscope

A

Higher magnification and resolution
Resolving power is up to 0.2nm
Enables us to see individual cells and structures in greater detail
More expensive
Allows us to see images in 3D

Q

List the steps in the microscopy required practical

A
  1. Insert prepared slide onto stage + secure with stage clips
  2. Turn on lights and select lowest power objective lens (produces lowest magnification x4)
  3. Look through eyepiece + adjust coarse adjustment knob to move stage up and down
  4. Adjust focus with fine adjustment knob until image is clear
  5. To magnify an image further, select a higher power objective lens (x10)
