*Larger SOFT bladder, easy to express
Stranguria with weak stream

Tx: Bethanechol - Parasympathomimetic 3 days after Catheter placement keep bladder small
DO NOT USE IF URETHRAL OBSTRUCTION IS PRESENT

Large FIRM bladder, stream suddenly stops

tx: alpha antagonist (Phenoxybenzamine, Prazosin, Tamulosin(Dogs Only) )

A

Pelvic n. senses distension and stimulates arch and Ach release from Pelvic n. Allowing Detrusor to contract some and Ext. Pudental to relax external sphincter
*But internal sphincter still closed
