A

Asked for money to fund research from UK first, didn’t get enough, so asked America and got enough., but Needed a lot of penicillin, and even large drug companies couldn’t afford it, so they began to grow it themselves, but they ran out before they could test it properly.

How did war help penicillin?

A

When America was attacked by Japan at Pearl Harbour, America realised potential of penicillin for treating wounded soldiers, and began mass producing it, Britain following after. After the war, penicillin began to be manufactured and used by everyone.

A

Developed first chemical drug that killed bacteria inside the body, however it killed the patient too.
