what is multidisciplinary?
-everyone working on the same problem within the silo boundaries of own disciplines under their assumptions and restrictions (if a patient is seeing many therapists but they don’t really communicate with each other- that’s multidisciplinary approach) -outcomes add to the body of knowledge -Little innovation due to fixed philosophy and work in isolation from other disciplines
29
transdisciplinary..
-everyone is working on the same problem by transcending the boundaries drawing on non-traditional perspectives cross-fertilizing assumptions/ restrictions resolving contradictory points of view
30
interdisciplinary
*when there different professionals working with the patient but they constantly communicate with each other; case conferences discussing the patient’s case/ complications. * best team approach because this allows for common understanding between the therapists and medical professionals. They get to understand what each individual is working on. They could better align their goals
