Q

Success in elections (significant)

A

Partisan dealignment means people tend to vote more on issuers rather than class or demographics. For example more people are voting for minor parties now then ever e.g in 1997 UKIP received 105,000 votes and greens only 6100 whereas in 2015 UKIP received 3.8million and greens 1.1 million showing that people value issues more than other issues making minor parties popular
