A catholic priest is a religious leader who has been appointed by the bishop and received the Sacrament of Holy Orders

Ordination is the ceremony in which one becomes a priest. His soul undergoes a change and he is forever made a priest

Priests make a voul of celibacy to make sure he will not have any female sexual relationships

Some choose to be educators working in schools or they are missionaries

A seminary is a family college for priest for between 6 and 9 years to prepare for the priesthood.

A priest might study philosophy, theology or ethics.
Name at least three qualities the Catholic Church would look for in a potential
priest.
A good candidate for the priesthood is a practicing, believing Catholic who attends Mass at least weekly, prays every day, obeys God’s commandments, and tries to serve others.
He must be mentally, emotionally, and physically healthy and open to serving God and willing to learn and grow

A monk or Nun is someone who commit themselves fully to religious life
Name some world religions that have monk
Religions with monks are Christianity, Buddhism, Hinduism and Judaism.
What buildings or rooms are often found within a monastery or convent?
A monastery is a building in which monks live in a community and a convent is a building in which nuns live in a community.
Monasteries and convents usually have a dedicated place for prayer and worship,
such as a church, chapel or temple as well as dormitories, cloisters (an enclosure with covered walkways), a dining room, a library and an infirmary (small hospital).

Name the two types of religious orders that monks and nuns can join. Briefly describe the lifestyle of each.
Monks and nuns choose to belong to one of two orders - a contemplative order or an apostolic order. A contemplative order involves living a hidden life of work and prayer, whereas an apostolic order involves working in the community (perhaps teaching, nursing, caring for the sick, poor or elderly).
Do you think Saint Mother Teresa was a member of a contemplative order or an apostolic order?
Mother Teresa would of been an apostolic order. This is because she worked in community and is very famous
What three things do all monks and nuns have a duty to do everyday?
Monks and Nuns have to always help others, and have a duty to pay, meditate and work every day.
What three vows are made by all monks and nuns
Obedience – the promise to obey Christ (represented by the senior member of the monastery).
Poverty – the monk cannot own anything
Chastity – the monk cannot have a sexual relationship nor get marri
Why should/shouldn’t women be priests
Christ did not include women among the select group of the Twelve to whom he gave the sacramental powers, which included ordination

What is the difference between absolute and Relative epoverty
Absolute poverty is not meeting basic needs like food water health. Relative poverty is your countries income is consistently below the average level within that country.
What is a lay person
An ordinary member of the Church who wishes to carry out the mission of the church
