Mitots Flashcards
(7 cards)
What is Prophase?
Disappearance of nuclear membrane and the formation of spindle fibers.
Chromosomes are represented as chromo = 4 and chroma = 2.
What occurs during Metaphase?
Chromosomes line up on spindle fibers at the center of the cell.
Sister chromatids are involved.
What happens in Anaphase?
The chromatids split using the centromere and line up with spindle fibers.
Chromosomes are represented as chromo = 4 and chroma = 2.
What is Cytokinesis?
The division of the cell’s cytoplasm creating two cells.
What happens to the form of DNA during the cycle?
Transforms from chromosome of 1 chromatid to chromatin.
How is the number of chromosomes affected during the cell cycle?
The number of chromosomes is conserved during the cycle; it stays the same from beginning to end.
What is Telophase?
Reformation of two nuclei with the same amount of remaining chromosomes.
Chromosomes are represented as chromo = 4 and chroma = 2.
