What does the Chelmsford development include?
The Chelmsford development is an example of the CBD fightback and mixed land use redevelopment that has occurred in Essex. Part of this development include Bond Street designed to provide a combination of open air shopping, riverside restaurants, cinema and public spaces whilst ensuring that it compliments the city’s heritage and create a fresh contemporary retail offer.

March 2007 - new bus terminal in Duke Street opened
May 2011 - work began on improvements to Moulsham Street delivering wider pavement, better lighting and better access to shops.
October 2011 - Moulsham Street improvements are completed
Autumn 2011 - new Primark opens in High Chelmer
December 2016 - Bond Street opens

Open patio, this benefits the local community because it allows social events to occur where people can gather.
How have residential areas been included in the redevelopment?
Above the restaurants lies flats which provide residential homes for affluent young professionals, flats range from £200,000 to around £500,000 and are modern. These are successful because they lie directly in the CBD and are easily accessible to the train station, main roads and bus routes.

Bill’s, Giggling Squid and Prezzo lie in the development. This means that people can shop and eat to create a day out of this development. This represents a range of services in this project
