Communist Chinese leader who first brough communism to China. He worked to grow and strengthen China.
Long March
Mao gathered up people and they died due to starvation during a forced march. This resulted in backlash.

Filled with quotes that told people how to live in China under the rule of Mao.
Cultural Revolution
A movement that resulted in a strong change in the way people lived. Focused upon a shift towards communism.
Great Leap Forward
Mao wanted to move society forward through communistic changes. The result was 30-45 million deaths due to starvation and poor conditions in society.

Birth rates decreased due to a lack of food and resources needed to raise children.

The mass killing of a Muslim minority group in China. Sent to work camps and tortured. The Chinese Government was trying to eliminate this group.
Social Credit System
CCP watches over Chinese citizens and their behaviors. Everything is documented by the Government to rank citizens based on their behaviors. This gives rewards for good behavior
Great Firewall of China
Internet censorship that limits what people are allowed to search up and view on the internet. The purpose of this is so the Government can make sure the people think the way that the government sees best fit for Chinese society. Forces people to think a certain way.
