Explain the Education system in the Northern colony.

A
Northern Colonies (NH, MA, RI, CT)- Culturally  and religiously homogenous—puritan,  educational needs teach religion & the 3R's  (elaborate), have a literate citizenship that could read the bible, Industry and commerce  were the most lived in towns (focus on reading Bible, Latin Grammar schools) , (The Northern Colonies influenced early school laws and common elementary schools. Puritian 
Dame schools where offered to boys and some girls. Dame schools was Education that was delivered in the homes of women, usually consisting of the basics of reading and writing.

Explain the impact of the old Deluder Satan Act Law.

A

The state of Massachusetts passed this act. This act required that every town that had 50 families or had to employ a teacher for its children.They would get paid by the families or if the town choose to do soy levying taxes. Towns of 100 families or more had to establish a school. in addition to teaching reading and writing these schools where required to teach latin grammar so that boys could be prepared for higher education. This started the process of naming schools latin Grammar schools and in New England there are still public schools that carry vestiges of this title.

Explain how Horace Mann was important to education,

A

He was a United States educator who introduced reform that significantly altered the system of public education (1796-1859) Known as the father of American Education envisioned Universal public education. He made sure every child could receive a basic education funded by local taxes.
