Cultural safety means the effective care of a person or family from another culture by a health practitioner who has undertaken a process of reflection on their own cultural identity and who recognizes the impact of their culture on their own clinical practice
** ensures that all patients are treated equitably by recognizing power structures and how our attitudes and beliefs influence our relationships and the care we provide
Trauma-informed care
requires us to acknowledge the impact of trauma on health and health care interactions and to establish safe and trustworthy relationships and environments that reduce the risk of re-traumatization.
