Secure Digital slot is for a SD memory card to store data such as photos, emails, music, files. Can be used to transfer data to other devices

Describe the functions of a Chromebook
Developed by Google has an android OS and none of the info is stored on the computer. All activity is performed on the chrome browser and everything is stored in the cloud. Functions via apps only. It can only run online versions of Microsoft Office Suite and only at 10-20% of the full suite features.
Describe the functions of Apple Mac
Use MAC OS known as IOS or macOS. Has built in features such as email, photo tools, & videoconferencing. Can also run MS Office Suite and Access. Can flip back and forth from IOS to Windows
Describe the functions of a Laptop or PC
Use a Windows 10 OS and most commonly used by professionals. Onedrive, Azure (business solution) and Teams work seamlessly with Office 365 along with countless other 3rd party apps.

Zoom, GoTo Meetings, WebEx, ezTalks, StarLeaf, & Blue Jeans. Most of these have a free version called a freemium, but charge a fee for additional features.
MS Teams rocks because it creates a comprehensive collaborative experience and it can integrates with 100’ s of 3rd party apps.

What is the hard drive on a PC?
A storage device containing a magnetic disk. It stores info on magnetized particles called terabytes. 1 terabyte holds tons of space (1 terabyte = 1,500 CD ROMs). They offer quick access with large storage but are fragile and easily damaged or can crash resulting in lost data.
What is a Solid-State Drive (SSD)?
Use flash memory chips w/ no movement (vs the hard drive that uses motors that spin magnetic platters & the drive heads) using less energy offering greater reliability and faster access.

Cloud Computing is using the cloud to store your info. The internet is the tool used to access the Cloud.

What is Cloud based Software?
It is a newer way to distribute software. It is a series of redundant servers that stores my software and files which I can access through my devices. This multiple server architecture ensures security, reliability, and on-demand access. Makes it easy to share w/ co-workers anytime, anywhere having the most updated version of whatever is being worked on.
