Q

What would be a typical example of an FCB position game?

A
  • THE GAME

In a position game, the 4v4, plus 3 neutral players allows for many varied forms of

communication for the player to identify many of the elements of our playing style.

  • SETUP

Two players on the outside of the team, and a neutral player in the middle,

plus two other neutral players on the two remaining sides.

  • OBJECTIVE / ELEMENTS

Everyday focus on a different element that we identify a priority on that day,

So players through that element of this game, become increasingly effective with

the objective that we want to practice.

  • THE INNER PLAYER

The inner players behavior is key, where, thanks to his/her position we have a different

space of superiority depending on where the player positions him/herself. If he/she

gets to close, if he/she moves toward the right, or to the other side.

  • SPACE AND SUPERIORITIES

These types of movements mean that we have different space and superiority

depending on the player’s movement after that it’s a fundamental game where we

must always try to alternate short plays when we have a space with superiority.

In that space we cease to have more superiority and we must try to seek

superiority in the space away from the ball.

  • OUTER PLAYERS

The outer players need to constantly be in a pass line depended on the

surrounded player, so the possessor always has more than one alternative.

It’s very important for the player’s to not always be on the same line as the player

closet to the ball because, then, the possibilities are reduced for the possessor and,

ultimately, it’s a position game that is usually played with very little space.

It forces you to constantly think about moving.
