argument for: folk vs neuroscience as scientific theories

response: folk psychology has good predictive power

response to response:neuroscience only has weak predictive power because it is a new science

response to that: until this happens folk psychology is the better scientific theory + cannot be eliminited

argument against: self-refuting

reply: u can say stating “ folk psychology is false” is evidence of a belief its false, but this assumes the conclusion of beliefs exist in the first place.

reply to reply: even make sense of the claim “folk is false” must assume intentionality

conclusion: folk psychology is currently better scientific theory than eliminative maternalism in predictive power. even if neuroscience advances it is doubtful if it can account for intentionality. SO folk psyhcoligt cannot be eliminated so eliminative materialism is false.
