1
Q
Crossing Over
A
- Mixing alleles during meiosis
2
Q
Random Fertilisation
A
- Random combination of sperm and egg during fertilisation
3
Q
Law of Segregation
A
- During meiosis the two alleles for each gene segregate so that each gamete carries only one allele from each gene pair
- Anaphase 1 and 2
4
Q
Law of Independent Assortment
A
- Inheritance of one gene does not affect the inheritance of another gene
- Metaphase 1
5
Q
Monohybrid Cross
A
- Cross involving individuals that are heterozygous for one trait
6
Q
Dihybrid Cross
A
- Cross involving individuals that are heterozygous for two traits
7
Q
How to Find Pedigrees
A
- Find unaffected parents and look at offsprings
- If offsprings are affected then it is recessive
- If offsprings are unaffected it is dominant
- To identify if its autosomal or sex linked, look at other parents on the pedigree and identify FDD or MSR
