What is motivation?
Motivation is a set of behaviours that initiate, direct, and influence individuals or groups to put in the effort on achieving the goals.
Explain Need satisfaction
People are only motivated by their unmet needs. (physical or psychological)
Managers must learn what those unmet needs are and address them.
Explain Equity Theory of Motivation
If one feels EQUITABLE in the company/business, they’re motivation continues.
If one feels INEQUITABLE in the company/business, they’re motivation decreases. Chenges in outcome, input, perception, and will leave.
Explain Locke - Goal Setting Theory
This theory is used for motivation because of the structural settings to follow and achieve the goal. 5 principals - Clarity - Challenges - commitment - feedback - Task complexity.
Explain intrinsic rewards?
Personal satisfaction/feelings of fulfillment, driven by their own motivations.
Leads to SATISFACTION
Explain Extrensic Rewards
A reward from the achievement of tasks given the performance and behaviors of one.
