2
Q

magic angle phenomenon

A

increased signal due to orientation on short TE sequences (T1, PD, GRE)

not susceptible on T2

disappears with long TE; tendon otherwise normal

Q

MR appearance of tenosynovitis? stenosing tenosynovitis?

A

fluid circumferrentially around fluid; loculated fluid collections around tendon sheath

Q

MR imaging of tendinosis

A

intermediate intra-substance tendon signal which is normal in size/enlarged

fluid signal should raise concern for partial tear, although both will appear similar

7
Q

partial vs full tear

A

partial: incomplete disruption of fibers; may be thickened/thinned/intra-substance fluid
