What is a sensory impairment?
- One or more senses not functioning as should
- Can have physical, psychological and emotional impacts
What are the 8 senses?

What is Interoception?
The sense to know internal feelings e.g. hunger, fatigue
What is vestibular?
The sense that controls balance
What is proprioception
The sense to know where your body is in space
What are some tyoes of vision loss?
Central vision loss- age related, code receptors at back of retina
Peripheral- Miss sides/low vision e.g. glaucoma, retinitis
Patchy- diff. seeing faces, small print can change throughout day

What is Multi-sensory impairment?
2 or more senses impaired, affecting all aspects of someone’s life, can present as one disability e.g. CHARGE syndrome

- Play and lang. development
