Multifunctional Display (MFD) Flashcards
How many MFD Option Select Buttons (MOSB) are there around the perimeter of the MFD?
26
When pressing RPTR mode in the FCP, what does your MFD display?
It displays the RCP MFD
At which pitch angle does the white dashed ghosted horizon line appear?
When the pitch angle is more than ± 22° (horizon line out of display limits), a white dashed ghost horizon line (GHL) and two red chevrons are displayed parallel to the horizon on the vertical center line.
For intercept angles of 30 degrees or more, what does the bank steering bar command?
For all intercept angles of 30° or more, the system commands a near constant 30° bank angle until rollout on the selected course / heading.
What is the maximum pitch steering bar deflection?
+/- 5 degrees
When EGI is the primary nav system, what is CDI based off of and what does 1 and 2 dots represent?
CDI deflection is based on a percentage of RNP. A 1-dot deflection is 50% of RNP, 2-dots is 100% of RNP, and full-scale deflection is > 120% of RNP.
When does the Green T Ground Track indicator appear on the EHSI?
- Ground Speed is selected for display.
- Aircraft speed is over 50 knots.
- GT is activated.
When is the CRS (top right of the EHSI) changed to APR?
a. EGI is the PNS; and
b. Flying a flight plan (including flight plan "P") and the current waypoint has APT as the steering type; and c. Phase-of-Flight is Approach
What does the airspeed indicator on the MFD display?
Actual calibrated airspeed is digitally displayed in the center of the indicator.
When is mach number displayed in the airspeed indicator?
Greater than or equal to 0.40 Mach
What is max range AOA?
.18
What is max endurance AOA?
0.3
What is the optimum final approach AOA and how is it displayed on the AOA indicator?
0.55 to 0.65, it is a green arc segment
At what AOA does an Aural tone and STALL indication appear on the HUD/MFD?
0.8 AOA
When does the G meter pointer turn yellow?
The pointer turns yellow in the range of 0.50 to 0.00 Gs below max G.
When does the G meter pointer turn red?
The pointer and max/min G value latch red when the maximum G limit is exceeded. The G pointer remains dynamic but the G limit tic mark latches at the most severe over-G.
When does an Over G occur?
An over-G occurs when the aircraft exceeds the current maximum positive or negative G limit for greater than 0.1 second.
When does the Medium G proximity aural tone trigger?
It is triggered when within 1.00 to 0.5 Gs of G limit.
When does the High G proximity aural tone trigger?
It is triggered when within 0.50 to 0.20 Gs of G limit.
When does the G Exceedance aural tone trigger?
G-exceedance – triggered when within 0.20 to 0.00 Gs of G limit.
At what descent rate does the IVV arc displayed on the altitude dial change to red?
4000 fpm
How many aircraft can the TCAS track?
Up to 45 aircraft
How many aircraft can the TCAS system display
30
What is the definition of non-threat traffic for the TCAS?
If the intruder is greater than 6 NM away or its relative altitude difference is more than +/- 1,200 feet
