Venous - think of venous blood return from the head to the SVC

Venous hum

A
  • Harsh, systolic murmur. May be continuous.
    • Decreased on Valsalva, pressure on jugular veins, supine, contralateral head turn
  • Innocent murmur
  • Sound of blood flowing from head to neck via jugular veins returning to heart
