What Frequencies does NAVTEX operate on?

A

518 KHZ - Prints in English
490 KHZ - Regional Language
4209.5 Khz - Used in Tropical region

A

A - Navigational Warnings
B - Meteorological Warnings
D - Search and rescue information

How do you tune a NAVTEX receiver?

A

Using appropriate ALRS Volumes 1,3,4,5
Select stations ship will intend to tune into on the voyage
Turn Navtext Receiver on
Select “Display”
Enter
Select Station & Messages
Input appropriate MSI Stations as found before
ENSURE ABDL is selected (Can’t usually Deselect)
go back to “user”
stations will be selected for the intended voyage.
